Dear Dad,
My book was sent to the judges today. I entered it into a self-published book competition. I actually suspect that it’s same one you entered with the first three Homeostasis Press books published. You learned some important things from that experience. I was looking through photographs to go with this post and realized that this little guy was a model for one of the sketches in the book. Remember? I don’t know why it tickles me so much that I stopped to sketch a sheep, and an apple, and the moon before I published this book. I did, and it does.
The winners won’t be notified until October. Critiques come in March. It’s a long wait. That’s okay. I’m patient. I am just delighted that I actually entered. You know it’s my way of showing how important it is that you helped me get this far.
